Sunday is shaping up to be the warmest day of 2020 to date, as high temperatures reach between 55 and 58 degrees. But savor the warmth as it lasts, as winter returns next week.
The storm heading our way Tuesday and Wednesday is a much different animal than anything we’ve seen since December 1. The system is loaded with moisture and enough cold air to switch rain to snow.
Chicago will be on the southern fringe of this heavy snow band, making for a tricky forecast.
A lot of scenarios still on the table as far as snow amounts and storm evolution go. The most likely scenario based on current thinking is over six inches of snow in the north, and a combination of rain and up to six inches of rain in the south.
