The Winter Weather Advisory continues until 7PM CDT for Winnebago, Boone, Mc Henry and Lake Counties in Illinois. As the center of low pressure passes over and moves east of the Chicago area, snow will continue over these northernmost counties, and as the afternoon progresses, rain will gradually change over to snow from west to east across the remainder of northeast Illinois into northwest Indiana.

Snow showers or flurries will continue overnight into Monday morning with minor accumulations possible, especially the northernmost counties. So the Advisory may have to be extended for those counties bordering Wisconsin. Note travel north will be extremely hazardous with the Winter Storm Warnings/Advisories and even Blizzard conditions across Wisconsin into Michigan – heavy snow of 5 to 10-inches are still expected on top of the 12 to 24-inches of snow already blanketing central and northern Wisconsin, while freezing rain and sleet covers much of Michigan.
