CHICAGO — A cold front entered Illinois Wednesday afternoon and brought with it a round of severe weather.
A Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued for portions of McHenry and Lake counties while tornado warnings were issued in Wisconsin, including in Kenosha County. Reports indicate 21,000 were without power in that area and trees were damaged. Winds of 73 mph were reported in Cudahy, 60 mph in Hartford and 58 mph at Mitchell Field — all in Wisconsin.
According to Tom Skilling, tornadoes have been reported in Wisconsin at the following locations and times:
- Burlington at 12:14pm
- Elkhorn at 12:01 pm
- Franksville at 12:40pm
- Whitewater at 11:45am by Highways 12 & 59
- Pewaukee at 12:03pm
- Brown Deer at 12:30 pm
A cold front swept across the Chicago metro area and is expected to clear the city by 2:30 p.m. and much of Northwest Indiana by 4 p.m.
Another widespread severe outbreak is not anticipated
