
Severe Weather Outlook
Severe weather is expected to be most heavily concentrated well south of Chicago—where damaging winds and isolated tornadoes are the biggest threats.

Monday’s Severe Weather Reports
The sheer number of single day SEVERE WEATHER REPORTS filed with the NWS Storm Prediction Center (SPC) was stunning. From the 1,174 PRELIMINARY reports were culled 668 reports by the Storm Prediction Center. The filtering process that is done at SPC to “cull” the avalanche of preliminary storm reports is the first attempt to screen out duplicate reports. The “668” number is staggeringly high!



Global average sea surface temperatures continued to rise, after a long period of unusually high temperatures since April 2023, reaching record-high levels in July. CONTINUE READING
