Scattered strong thunderstorms to continue this evening across northern Illinois – Flash Flood Warning for central Winnebago County

Update 8:20PM CDT…

No Severe Thunderstorm Warnings are in effect, however strong storms with heavy downpours continue to develop and moves slowly east. Where “training” (storms repeatedly moving over the same general location) has gone on, some local flooding will occur – a Flash Flood Warning is in effect until 11:45PM CDT for central Winnebago County impacting Rockford, Machesney Park, Roscoe, Cherry valley, Winnebago and Pecatonica. 


Update 8:05PM CDT…

The Severe Thunderstorm warning remains in effect for southeastern Lake county, IL, but has been cancelled for north-central Cook and central DuPage counties.


Strong to severe thunderstorms continue to move east at 25 to 35 mph across southeastern Lake, north-central Cook and central DuPage Counties this Tuesday evening. Wind gusts to 60 mph along with penny-sized hail may occur in the strongest storms.
