30 years ago Hurricane Andrew, the 4th strongest U.S. Hurricane on record roared through the Bahamas, then crossing southern Florida, recording a top wind of 177 mph at Perrine, FL on August 24 The devastating storm tracked NW across the Gulf of Mexico, made landfall again in southern Louisiana and curved NE as it evolved into a potent inland low pressure.
