At 10PM CST Sleet/snow west with accumulating snow continuing east portion

Snow continues to accumulate over eastern portions of the Chicago area, but is turning over to a mix of snow and sleet along and west of the Fox River Valley. Greatest snowfall reported thus far has been north of Interstate-88/290 headed by 4.7-inches at Bull Valley with reports in excess of 4-inches at Buffalo Grove, St. Charles, Northbrook and Cary. Reports south of Interstate-80 have been generally around an inch or less.

Accumulating snow will impact the late afternoon/evening commute as it spreads northeast across the Chicago area. Heaviest snowfall should occur between 5 and 8PM CST – be prepared for a slow/slippery drive, the later you get started this afternoon into the evening hours, the more difficult the travel conditions will be.
