CHICAGO -- A Lakeshore Flood Advisory remains in effect for parts of Chicagoland through 4 a.m. Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service, portions of the Chicago lakefront are expected to be inundated by "large, battering waves."

The Weather Service also says life-threatening waves and currents are expected at Chicago-area beaches.

Portions of the Chicago lakefront bike path are expected to be impassable due to high waves, as well.

The target areas for the flood advisory are Cook and Lake Counties, according to the National Weather Service.
