CHICAGO – MLB commissioner Rob Manfred says the Cubs will likely get an All-Star Game once the Wrigley Field renovations are complete.

Wrigley Field is in its second offseason of upgrades, which include improvements to its concourses and iconic marquee.

The midsummer classic, as it’s often called, hasn’t been on the North Side since 1990. The American League won that contest 2-0.

The city most recently hosted the All-Star Game in 2003 at U.S. Cellular Field, the home of the White Sox.

Host cities have already been determined for the next three seasons: San Diego will host this year, Miami in 2017 and Washington in 2018.

The Cubs and Sox report to Spring Training later this week.
