CHICAGO - Yoan Moncada thought a few days rest for his hamstring might be a good idea. The White Sox agreed.

Moncada was placed on the 10-day disabled list ahead of Saturday's game against the Twins. His left hamstring tightened up again Friday night. Sox skipper Ricky Renteria kept him out of the lineup Thursday after he made an early exit in St. Louis on Wednesday.

Jose Rondón got the call up from AAA Charlotte in the meantime. Rondón has appeared in 24 games with the Knights this season, hitting .286 with four home runs, 10 RBI, and a .349 on-base percentage. He has been the starting shortstop in all 24 games.
