CHICAGO – Everyone can take a deep breath. A little rest did the trick for the first place Cubs.

As for the White Sox, it’s quite the opposite. They endured a forgettable series in Anaheim in which they were only able to get one run over the course of 27 innings.

Again, it’s early in the second half but right now both sides of town are headed in opposite directions.

Columnist Dave Wischnowsky came on Sports Feed on Sunday to discuss both teams after the first weekend of the second half with Josh Frydman. He also discussed some Illini sports as they get ready to start a new year of NCAA competition.
