*The White Sox will open the season against the Twins for the third time and first since 1993. The Sox are 1-1 vs. the Twins on Opening Day and 0-1 at U.S. Cellular Field.

*The Sox are 59-54 overall on Opening Day and 27-23 when opening at home (5-1 at U.S. Cellular Field). Chicago has won 11 of its last 17 openers and 11 of its last 12 home openers.

*Chicago’s 59 Opening Day wins are the third-most in the American League. Only Baltimore (65) and the Yankees (64) have won more season openers.

*Chicago has hit at least one home run in 11 of its last 14 Open- ing Day games and at least two home runs in five of its last 10 season openers.

*This will mark the fifth time the White Sox will open a season in March (2008, 2006, 1998 and 1996)

*Chris Sale, 25, is scheduled to make his second career Opening Day start. Sale earned the win last season, tossing 7.2 scoreless IP vs. Kansas City.

*The White Sox Opening Day lineup is projected to feature five players who will make their first career OD start (Jose Abreu, Adam Eaton, Avisail Garcia, Conor Gillaspie and Marcus Semien).
