Bears cornerback Charles Tillman will not return from the reserve/injured list this season because his right triceps has not sufficiently recovered from the injury he suffered Nov. 10, coach Marc Trestman said Monday.

Tillman was placed on the reserve/injured list Nov. 11 with a designation to return. He is eligible to return to game action in the divisional (second) round of the playoffs, but he will not physically be able to, Trestman said.

Trestman declined to say whether Tillman had surgery, citing privacy reasons. However, when Tillman last spoke to reporters on Nov. 11, he said doctors were still evaluating the injury he suffered the previous day, and surgery was not ruled out.

Tillman’s contract expires in March. The 2012 All-Pro and Pro Bowler will turn 33 in February.
