DES PLAINES, Ill. – With a franchise best 1,207 points under his belt, Robbie Gould is arguably the greatest kicker in Bears history.

Today, Gould was honored for his efforts off the field with the 2016 Ed Block Courage Award – an accolade voted on by his teammates for professionalism and community involvement.

It comes as no surprise given Gould’s commitment to the organization over the past twelve years.

But last season was a tough one for the team’s longest-tenured player.

Despite being the ninth most accurate in NFL history, Gould missed six field goals in 2015 – two of which cost the Bears a potential victory.

Gould says he’s put that all behind him now and is ready to continue on his quest to become ‘the best kicker ever to play.’

One way he plans to retool for the new year: adding weight.

He’s off to a good start, already bulking up from a sturdy 187 pounds to 191 pounds.
