CHICAGO - Inside US Cellular Field there is a table surrounded by years and years of experience in looking at the best future players that baseball has to offer.

Nick Hostetler has been one of those guys in a chair, sharing information with those around him along with the guy at the front of the room.

Up until last year the man leading the discussion in the room was Doug Laumann, the Director of Amateur Scouting for the team. Hostetler was the assistant to him since 2012, offering input but never having the shot to make the White Sox's first round draft pick himself.

A year and a promotion later, now its Hostetler who gets the chance to stand at the front. Promoted to the director position last August, the longtime scout will now get the chance to make the final call on the team's selections in the MLB Draft this weekend, including the team's first at No. 10.

Before that begins, Josh Frydman sat down with Hostetler to discuss his thoughts on taking over the scouting department for the White Sox. Click on the video above to watch the story.
