CHICAGO — Cubs fans started lining up outside Macy’s on State Street early this morning for a chance to meet popular Cubs infielder Javier Baez.
To celebrate the 2016 World Series, Baez appeared at Macy’s for a personal appearance and autograph signing at noon today.
The first 175 customers who spent $35 or more on officially licensed Cubs merchandise from the Locker Room by LIDS Shop had the chance to meet Baez and get his autograph.

Thanks to the Make-A-Wish foundation, the first person in line was a 7-year-old Cubs fan and his two brothers. Baez met child at noon, and the general public appearance followed.
Macy’s allowed one signed item per customer receipt, and no personal items were allowed to be signed nor personal photos with Baez were allowed.
Baez will also signed autographs Dick’s Sporting Goods in the South Loop. At 9 a.m., the store handed out 300 wristbands to fans who will come back for the autographs between 4-6 p.m. The autographs there are restricted to 5×7 player cards or DICK’S Sporting Goods branded baseballs.
