CHICAGO – The awards continue to pile up for Cubs ace Jake Arrieta.

Today, the reigning Cy Young champ was named the National League Pitcher of the Month.

Arrieta was a perfect 5-0 in April, allowing just four runs while striking out 32 for an ERA of 1.00.

Although his 52 2/3 inning scoreless streak was broken, Arrieta set another franchise record this month after he started and won a regular season game for the 18th consecutive time.

It’s also worth noting that Arrieta tossed a no-hitter for the second year in a row on April 21st against the Reds.
