ROCKFORD, Ill. — Cubs fans tasted sweet victory when the Cubs won the World Series, and the sweetness goes on, thanks to a local chef.

Gerald Madero created a replica of Wrigley Field made out of gingerbread. It weights 400 pounds and is almost completely edible. Madero made the seats out of crackers, the scoreboard out of edible paper and the windows out ofv gelatin.

Madero said it took him and his chefs more than 70 hours to build the replica.

“Everybody here, we’re all Cubs fans, so, you know being that the Cubs won the World Series, we just thought it was right to make Wrigley Field,” Madero told WREX.

The stadium is on display with the Forest Hills Country Club holiday brunch, which always features a gingerbread centerpiece.

The country club is located at 5135 Forest Hills Road inRockford.
