CHICAGO – It’s been a memorable summer for the Blackhawks’ top forward even after his team was eliminated in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Patrick Kane picked up three NHL honors – the Hart Trophy, Ted Lindsay Award and the Art Ross Trophy – following his most successful season as a professional hockey player.
His 46 goals and 60 assists were career-highs for Kane who appears ready to enter the prime of his career when the 2016-2017 season begins. This summer the forward is staying in Chicago to continue working with the Blackhawks’ staff and teammates as he tries to bring home a fourth Stanley Cup title to Chicago in eight years.
While fans won’t know how much he’s improved till he hits the ice with Team USA in the World Cup of Hockey in September then the Blackhawks in October, he gave a hint of what might be to come in a new advertisement release by Bauer.
The commercial was posted on YouTube this week and features Kane working out with Bauer’s new Vapor 1X hockey stick. During the 51 second video Kane dazzles with his ability to seamlessly work the puck in and out of various obstacles, including a few small tires.
Kane is not the first player on the Blackhawks to take part in a unique commercial for the hockey equipment manufacturer.
Last year Jonathan Toews pulled off a stunt where he knocked a water bottle off the top of the goal and then hit it with another puck before it landed on the ground.
