CHICAGO – Brian Campbell is coming back to Chicago.

Even though he’s been gone for five seasons, Campbell has kept his roots in the Chicagoland area, living in the western suburbs during the offseason.

The 37-year-old defenseman will likely spend more time in his second home after signing a deal with the Blackhawks rumored to be in the one-year, $2 million range.

In the final year of his eight-year, $57 million contract that he inked with the Hawks before leaving for Florida, Campbell tallied six goals and 25 assists.

The Strathroy, Ontario native is expected to slide into the fourth defenseman role alongside either Brent Seabrook, Niklas Hjalmarsson or Duncan Keith.

Campbell already changed his Twitter profile picture and background to reflect the change in scenery.
