INDIANAPOLIS – Back in 2012, the Bears were the first to get a look at perhaps the best young quarterback in the NFL.
Three years later, they’ll get the chance to see how much he’s matured.
On Thursday morning Colts head coach Chuck Pagano announced that his team-led by fourth-year quarterback Andrew Luck-will hold joint practices with the Bears on August 19th and 20th in Indianapolis. They will take place at the Colts’ 56th Street complex on the Northwest side of the city.
These practices will take place in the days leading up to the team’s match-up in a preseason contest at Lucas Oil Stadium on August 22nd.
While not a regular season match-up seeing the Bears could be a little nostalgic for Luck who made his NFL debut against the Bears on September 9, 2012. Luck was 25-of-43 for 309 yards passing with a touchdown and three interceptions as the Bears won handily 41-21.
Chicago also won the match-up between the two teams in the 2008 regular season opener-the first regular season game played at Lucas Oil Stadium. The Colts won the previous two games in 2004 at Soldier Field and Super Bowl XLI in Miami Gardens, FL.
