CHICAGO – Just like this year, there was an extra day in 1996. For Bulls fans, that was a great thing.

The longer that season went, the better-and it was a good week for the Bulls too.

The eventual 1995-1996 NBA Champions went 3-0 during leap week and into early March and were barely challenged in wins over the Timberwolves, Warriors and Celtics.

But there were other storylines to the week as well. A former Chicago high school basketball star, Kevin Garnett, played in his first pro game in the Windy City with a heavy hear. Plus another longtime Bulls player appeared in Chicago in a different uniform for the first time. Plus Michael Jordan challenged a longtime Chicago columnist to a quick game of 1-on-1.

All of those were apart of the 72 Review segment on Thursday’s Sports Feed. Jarrett Payton and Josh Frydman recapped the week that was 20 years ago for that great Bulls team.
