CHICAGO -- A University of Chicago study looked at what happened to students affected by Chicago Public School closings.

The study says a third of them wound up in another low-performing schools.

That's because their families decided against the welcoming school that was recommended to them.

The parents say the welcoming school was too far, and they were concerned about safety.
