CHICAGO — Hundreds of men volunteered for an on-site prostate cancer test today at the Sweet Holy Spirit Church of Chicago.

Doctors performed blood tests at worship services. A network of physicians was involved in treating the parish’s Bishop Larry Trotter’s bout with the disease two years ago.

Early detection is credited with a good prognosis for the bishop — and that was the point of today’s screenings, along with educating church members about the importance of regular checkups.
