VALPARAISO, Ind. — First Lady Jill Biden, along with other Biden administration officials, visited a community college in Valparaiso to talk about building pathways to good-paying jobs.

Deputy Secretary of Labor and nominee for Secretary of Labor Julie Su and Deputy Secretary of Energy David Turk joined Biden at Ivy Tech Community College in Valparaiso, IN.

According to a press release from the Office of the First Lady, Biden, Su, and Turk toured the college’s Flex Lab to “meet with students who are training on equipment relevant to designing, maintaining, and installing wind turbines and solar panels as part of the Renewable Energy program. Ivy Tech created the program to address workforce demands in solar and wind energy jobs in Northwest Indiana, and has built strong industry partnerships with local employers.”

The group of Biden administration officials gave prepared remarks following the tour. WGN had a reporter on scene who will deliver an updated report on the event Monday evening.
