CHICAGO — A 26-year-old woman has died after being shot multiple times while sitting in a car in the LeClaire Courts neighborhood.
The shooting happened around 11 p.m. Monday in the 5000 block of West 46th Street.
The woman, who was later identified as Stoni Bridges, was a passenger in a red Chrysler when someone in a white SUV drove by and started shooting.
Bridges was shot five time, including once in the chest, and died at Mount Sinai Hospital.
The Chicago Tribune reports she was with her boyfriend at the time of the shooting.
Police say the boyfriend was in the driver’s seat and managed to escape unharmed.
Police said it is unknown if Bridges was the intended target.
No arrests have been made.
