CHICAGO –  A woman is dead after a hit-and-run crash in Chicago’s Pilsen neighborhood.

It happened at about midnight Sunday near the intersection of Cermak Road and South Loomis Street.

Police say a Ford Mustang was speeding south on Loomis Street when it struck a Honda Civic head-on.   That Civic was going northbound.  The Mustang drove off and then struck two parked cars and fled the scene.

A 23-year-old woman, who was sitting in the front passenger seat of the Civic, had to be cut from the car.   She was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the Civic, an 18-year-old man and a 5-year-old boy who was in the back seat, were taken in serious-to-critical condition to Stroger Hospital.

The crash is under investigation.

No one is in custody.
