Theresa Vancil was expecting her 5th child, when the siren on her smart phone went off and told her to take cover.

A tornado was coming, but she was on the 8th floor of Pekin Hospital.

So Vancil got her phone and captured the tornado from her room’s window, in between contractions.

Everyone else around her was packing the hallways of the maternity ward.

The tornado went by, but it didn’t hit the hospital.

Vancil didn’t give birth until three days later.

Her new daughter, Winter, was born Wednesday according to Vancil’s Facebook page.

Winter was born one month early.
