HIALEAH, Fla. — Police are investigating after a 29-year-old woman traveled from West Virginia to South Florida to undergo a cosmetic procedure and died when she suffered medical complications.

According to WSVN, Heather Meadows arrived at Encore Plastic Surgery in Hialeah for the surgery, Thursday. She reportedly suffered medical complications and was rushed to Larkin Community Hospital where she died.

It is not known what procedure Meadows was having done. WSVN reached out to the clinic, but no one would comment.

Meadows leaves behind a 6-year-old boy and a newborn baby girl, WSVN reports.

The investigation is ongoing.
