Woman attacked near Matteson Metra station; Police seek suspect

Police in south suburban Matteson along with the Cook County Sheriff’s office are trying to find a man who sexually assaulted a woman near a Metra station.

The attack happened along the Old Plank Road Trail around 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

The victim was walking to the train station from her home in Park Forest when she was grabbed and sexually assaulted.

Dogs were called-in to try and pick-up the scent and trail of the attacker.

Police say the man is also suspected in two other attacks that happened in Richton Park and Park Forest on Tuesday.

The suspect is described as an African-American male around 30-year-old. 180 lbs, short hair with callouses on his hands. He was wearing a black hooded nylon jacket with a white zipper, dark jeans and dark gym shoes.

Police are offering a $500 reward for any information that may lead to any of the cases.
