CHICAGO — A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until midnight on Sunday for parts of the area.
The advisory was issued for the counties in purple:
On and off snow on Saturday could produce 1 to 2 inches of additional accumulation. Snow tapers off in the evening. Residents should plan on slick and snow covered roads and reduced visibilities.
The heaviest snow totals are likely in the north and northwest suburbs. Snow will decrease, becoming lighter and more occasional Saturday afternoon. West winds strengthen and become gusty 10-22 mph. Lingering light snow or sprinkles ending overnight. Breezy west nighttime winds 10-22 mph. Low near 30.
