Perhaps one of the most famous movie locations in America, a giant house in Winnetka gained notoriety in the 1990s when it was the set of the holiday comedy classic, “Home Alone.” Now, people can see what it looks like today.

The four-bedroom, four-bathroom home was reportedly  sold in 2012 for almost $1.6 million. Coldwell Banker released the most recent photos taken from inside the giant house. It shows the staircase, which young Kevin McCallister, played by Macauley Culkin, uses as a sledding hill.

But there have been many changes, including a completely remodeled kitchen from the one in the movie.

“Home Alone,” released in 1990, launched Culkin into movie stardom, and made him one of the most recognizable child actors of all time.

The holiday classic was written by John Hughes, who was known for movies set in Chicagoland, including “National Lampoon’s Vacation” and “Christmas Vacation.”
