CHICAGO — Staffing shortages at schools across the country are contributing to a rise in virtual instruction programs.

Chicago-based system Elevate K-12 is looking to hire 1,000 teachers. The program brings live-streamed instructors to in-person classrooms in 20 states.

Elevate’s founder, Shaily Baranwal, Elevate coach and former CPS principal Candace Bui-Watson joined the WGN Weekend Morning News to talk more about the organization.
