Vigil held for slain boxer

CHICAGO — Dozens gathered Tuesday night to grieve the shooting death of a promising young Chicago boxer gunned down Saturday night.

24-year-old Ed “Bad Boy” Brown was sitting in a car in East Garfield Park with a relative when someone opened fire.

Police say a sliver car pulled up beside them and opened fire, hitting Brown in the head and his cousin in the leg

He passed away Sunday.

At a vigil in Garfield Park Tuesday night, he was remembered as a dedicated father and a talented boxer.

Advocates made a plea for anyone with information about the shooting to come forward.

A reward for information in the case is being offered.

Brown leaves behind a 3-year-old daughter.
