A man from Vernon Hills was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the death of his wife, two years ago.

Ronald Stolberg’s wife Rachel had a mental breakdown, and prosecutors admitted that Stolberg had a difficult time dealing with her disruptive behavior.

Still, the jury found that Stolberg’s frustration made him hold his wife down on the floor until she stopped breathing, and died.

The manslaughter conviction means his jail sentence could be reduced to time already served.
