Though still under construction, the Chicago Riverwalk is already an exciting part of the city waiting to be explored. It’s a walkway that runs along the south bank of the Chicago River in the heart of downtown between Lake Shore Drive and LaSalle Street. When the project is finished in 2016, it will extend as far west as Lake Street. Here are a few ways to enjoy this developing attraction.

Food & Drink 

Island Party Hut – a fun, Caribbean-themed restaurant with live music on weekend afternoons

Cyrano’s – a romantic French restaurant that offers brunch, lunch, dinner, a full wine list and even an ice cream parlour

O’Brien’s Riverwalk Cafe – the popular Old Town restaurant’s Riverwalk location has something for everyone on its menu, from their famous cheeseburgers to fresh salads

Flander’s Belgian Beer and Fries – enjoy some authentic Belgian beer and traditional frites with unique sauces like garlic parmesan, pesto mayo and BBQ vinegar

City Winery Chicago at the Riverwalk – the West Loop winery’s Riverwalk location is the perfect spot to grab a glass of wine and some appetizers with friends on a summer night
