Take advantage of the gorgeous September weather this weekend by checking out these festivals and events happening around the city.

Chicago Gourmet (Sept. 25-27) – A celebration of food & wine in Millennium Park. Begins Friday night with Hamburger Hop, a kickoff party and competition to find the city’s best burger. Also includes tastings, book signings, seminars and live cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs like Rick Bayless. Tickets are required to all events.

Oktoberfest Chicago (Sept. 25-27) – Kick off the fall season at this festival in Lakeview with music, brats and pretzels. There will also be craft beer tastings and KinderFest for kids.

American Craft Exposition (Sept. 25-27) – Visit the Chicago Botanic Garden for this massive craft fair. Tickets are $15 plus parking.

Great Chicago Fire Festival (Sept. 26) – The 2015 Fire Festival will be held at Northerly Island, after last year’s inaugural event on the Chicago River flopped due to technical difficulties. The spectacle is meant to celebrate the city’s history and culture. Admission is free but you can reserve a space online.

Free Museum Day (Sept. 26) – Free entry to 15 Chicago museums, including the Adler Planetarium, the Chicago History Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum.

Circus in the Parks (Sept. 26-27) – This family-friendly show is coming to Margate Park on the city’s north side, with performances at 2pm and 5pm both days. Tickets cost $20 for adults, $15 for children.

Grand Art & Design Festival (Sept. 26-27) – Head to West Town for a fall-themed fest showcasing local artisans and designers. There will be food trucks, live music and hay rides. Suggested $5 donation at the gate.

Edgewater Fall Art Festival (Sept. 26-27) – More than 120 artists from across the city will display their work at this two-day art fest. You can also expect live performances, kids’ activities and even a pet parade.

Hyde Park Jazz Festival (Sept. 26-27) – This free festival features stellar jazz artists at various performance venues in Hyde Park. Suggested $5 donation.

Randolph Street Market Festival (Sept. 26-27) – If you’re in the market for vintage items or antiques, you won’t want to miss this shopping event at Plumbers Hall (1340 W. Washington Street). Admission is $8 online, $10 at the gate.
