“Uptown Beach Bandit” caught

CHICAGO – The woman dubbed the “Uptown Beach Bandit”, after robbing three TCF banks last month on the North side, has been caught.

During the robberies, she wore a large floppy straw hat, sunglasses and either a green jacket, a tan cardigan or a light gray hoodie.

Authorities say she first struck on August 5 at a bank on the 3500 block of Broadway.  On August 14, a woman matching the same description robbed a bank on the 5300 block of Broadway.

The third robbery was on August 22 on the 4300 block of Sheridan.
