EDISON PARK, Ill. — A pedestrian was fatally struck by a Metra train near Edison Park Friday morning.
It happened on Metra’s Union Pacific Northwest line in the 6700 block of North Olmsted Avenue. Train #618 was involved in the incident.
Trains were halted in both directions for a few hours during the morning rush, but service has since been restored.
After the accident, Metra honored tickets on the Blue Line at Cumberland, Harlem, Jefferson Park, Montrose and Irving Park.
No other information about the incident was provided.
