CHICAGO -- An Uber driver has been charged with sexually assaulting a female passenger on the city's Near North Side.

Alexander Marrero faces charges of criminal sexual assault and aggravated battery.

Prosecutors say Marrero picked the 23-year-old victim up near Division and State in the Gold Coast around 1 a.m. on June 26.

She was intoxicated and says she woke up in the back seat to find he had partially disrobed her.

Marrero reportedly sped off when the victim's roommate came out to the car.

Uber has banned him from the ride-sharing service.

Bail was set at $150,000.

Marrero is due back in court August 3.
