WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Capitol police were investigating Tuesday after two unattended packages were found near the Capitol just one day after the area was put on lockdown amid a shooting.
Reuters reported U.S. Capitol police said two suspicious packages were found. Both packages was investigated, and the test results were negative.

An entrance to the visitor center was closed due to the investigation, but the other remained open.There is no impact to the U.S. Capitol or congressional office buildings.
Monday, the capitol was on lockdown after a man, Larry Dawson, brought a gun to the building. He was arrested.
