FAIRDALE, Ill -- Two women lost their lives in this deadly tornadoes that ripped through north central Illinois Thursday night. Both lived in Fairdale, Ill, the small community of 150 people where everyone knew everyone.

69-year-old Jacklyn Klosa and 67-year-old Geraldine Schultz were both killed in the storm.

Their deaths are having a huge impact on friends and neighbors, and is extremely difficult for one man, who, after the tornado, discovered the body of a long-time friend.

Leo Cardot’s house is in one piece, but he's still struggling to deal with some of what he saw last night. He joined the search for survivors in the rubble and pulled out several of his neighbors.

But he also made a very painful discovery, the body of his friend and neighbor, Geraldine. He called her “Gerri” and still can't believe the vivacious 67-year-old he knew is gone.

"My heart goes out to their families. It's a terrible thing that happened,” Cardot said.
