2 critically injured in East Garfield Park fire

CHICAGO - Two people are critically injured after a fire broke out in an East Garfield Park home overnight.

The fire began just after 3:00 this morning on the 300 block of South Albany.

Fire officials confirm that one of the victims is an 80-year-old woman.  The other victim is her 38-year-old son.  They both were taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital.

The fire was struck out in less than an hour.

Fire officials are investigating.
