A woman on trial for the shooting death of Chicago police officer Richard Francis was distressed and confused at the time according to her attorney.
Francis was shot in the head with his gun July 2, 2008 while struggling with Robin Johnson.
He was responding to a disturbance on a CTA bus at Belmont and Western.
Johnson is charged with first degree murder, but her lawyer told the jury the shooting was an accident after Francis tackled Johnson on the street.
