AUSTRALIA — A man in Australia shared his passport with the world to prove his name is real.
Phuc Dat Bich is a 23-year-old Vietnamese-Australian man.
The name is not pronounced phonetically. It is actually pronounced (Foop) (Dook) (Bik).
Phuc says his name is a common one in Vietnam.
But he’s had his Facebook account canceled three times because the company felt his name was fake.
Along with his passport he wrote, “I’d like to mention that I am very grateful to those who have been supportive of certain names that populate in different cultures. We live in a diverse and multicultural society and the fact that there are people out there who are supportive and encouraging really makes me happy.”
His Facebook post has led to tens of thousands of likes and comments.
