An alert police officer in Florida rescued a tiny puppy from a hot car after he heard its cries for help.
Outside temperatures reached 94 degrees on Sunday. Inside the car, it was closer to 150 degrees. The officer said he heard a tiny dog barking and crying for help. After figuring out what car the noise was coming from, he used his baton to smash in the window.
No glass hit the puppy, who was hiding under the front seat. When the officer took the puppy out, people in the parking lot came to help him with a bottle of water.
The brand-new puppy survived.
Because the puppy was so young, animal control returned the puppy to the owner so he could be reunited with his mother.
The owner was cited and fined for animal cruelty.
