WORCESTERSHIRE, UK — When Sam Boulter, secretary of the Honeybourne Railway Club in Worcestershire got to work, he thought the building had been robbed.
Beer and broken glass bottles were scattered across the floor. So was the culprit: a squirrel that had had a bit too much to drink.
Boulter told BBC he saw the squirrel come “staggering around” the bar.
“I’ve never seen a drunk squirrel before. He was sozzled and looked a bit worse for wear, shall we say,” he told BBC.
Boulter says the squirrel turned on the taps and must have drank some of what he spilled.
BBC says the squirrel caused about $450 of damage. He was eventually caught in a wastebasket and released out a window.
