JAMESTOWN, N.Y. -- They love Lucy, just not this Lucy.

This Lucille Ball statue has been terrorizing the people near Jamestown, New York, where she grew up, for the past six years.

The statue went up in 2009 and townspeople say that's no way to honor their beloved, beautiful icon.

They say it's unflattering and unattractive and just plain ugly.

From the moment it went up, townspeople wanted to take it down.

They've started a Facebook page called "We Love Lucy! Get Rid of This Statue," and it has more than 7,000 followers.

They're hoping to raise enough money to get Lucy taken down and replaced with a more realistic, flattering likeness.

The page is encouraging people to write to the local newspaper in an attempt to get it replaced.
