STOCKPORT, U.K. — A woman claims to have recently caught an eerie sight on camera while wandering through an abandoned hospital, according to multiple reports out of the U.K.

The Daily Mail reported Jamie-Leigh Brown captured a ghostly image of a doctor while at a building formerly known as St. Thomas’s Hospital in Stockport, England.

According to the Daily Mail the hospital has been abandoned for more than a decade. Three years ago it was featured in an episode of paranormal investigation show “Most Haunted.”

Brown is an “amateur ghost hunter” and was exploring with friends, the Daily Mail reported.

Brown said, “We kept hearing noises above us like shuffling and footsteps but hadn’t actually seen anything.”

According to The Mirror the building has no working stairs.

Brown and her group quickly left the building after taking a few pictures, and she claimed she didn’t see the “ghost” doctor until after developing the photo.

“It freaked me out,” she told The Sun. “It’s standing in a lift shaft. It’s really creepy to think my friend was just heading towards the area where the ghost was.”

Images of her photo purporting to show a figure wearing what looks like a medical gown and mask then began circulating on social media after reports from the U.K. published it.

The building used to be a Victorian workhouse known for packing its inmates in “like sardines in a tin,” according to the Daily Mail. It later became the Shaw Heath Hospital, before becoming St Thomas’s.

According to the Daily Mail the building is now owned by Stockport College.
