‘Twas the night before Christmas and a thief was stirring inside a school in Round Lake.

Police say the male suspected forced his way in to Raymond Ellis School around 6:30 p.m. on Dec 24th and stole computer equipment and money intended for children’s programs.

A spokesperson for the school district says the laptop that was taken was found in a neighbor’s yard near the school.  But the suspect got away with over $300 dollars taken from the office.

School officials say the money was to be used for the students' year book.

The spokesperson said the thief also did $2,000 - $5,000 worth of damage to the building – mostly in the office area.

Police are asking for help in identifying the suspect. Anyone with any information is asked to call police at 847-270-9111.
